Our Stories (short version)
God has been good to us - during our courtship/dating, He spoke to both of us and made it clear He wanted what we wanted - that we could better achieve His plans by doing life together rather than separate.
Our covenant to each other mirrors God's covenant commitment to us, He says
"...for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6
God cannot lie, so we can rest in his promise he will always be with us.
Where do we get our confidence in coming together?
God has loved us even though we have turned to other gods, disobeyed Him... Our sin is what put Him on the cross. And yet, while we were still sinning against Him, He loved us enough to die making restitution for our sins.
This demonstration of love is what gives marriage its meaning and gives us hope - by His grace we will be able to unconditionally love each other, despite our sins and imperfectness.
